Hi there! Today I am going back to my post of March 6th, 2013 as I finally have a picture of the completed project. As mentioned in that post, this powder room was an addition to the main floor of an old tudor-style home which has bathrooms only on the upper and lower levels. The home owners are both recently retired and plan on spending their golden years there. To reduce the amount of time going up and down stairs they are not only saving themselves time, but also the condition of their hips and knees!
Here is the Sketchup rendering of the proposed design showing the size of the room and the size of fixtures needed to maximize function and accessibility:
Here is a picure of the completed project:
The home owners chose a really slick, contemporary basin and painted out the original dark wood trim in white. With so many windows, temperature control is a bit of an issue so we went with honeycomb style shades and for the wall colour we chose Wedgewood Grey by Benjamin Moore.
As you can see this 4′ x 7′ space is just enough for a 2 piece bathroom. As long as the fixtures are in proper proportion, the room is functional and comfortable!
