Colour Trends 2014 – Part 2 of 4

Good day!  As promised here is my second post for colour trends 2014 taken from the Sherwin-Williams Colormix 2014 presentation I attended a few weeks ago.  Today’s colour palette is called ‘Reasoned’ and it is inspired by trends in geometry, 3D printing, negative space, mathematics and technology.   As opposed to last week’s colour palette which was soft and feminine, here’s something for the men too: a more masculine, sleek and bold look.

3D printing, according to Wikipedia, is the process of making a third dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model. Negative space is basically the space around and in between an object.  The colour palette is therefore centred around blacks, whites and greys (cool greys and warm greys alike).  Geometrics and negative space kind of go hand in hand so I thought I would put these together:

And, something for all of you computer geeks out there!  One of my favourites, technology:

The third post will be from the ‘Intrinsic’ colour palette.

Stay tuned!
